How to Know if My PC Meets the Recommended Specs
Each PC has different components, depending on the model and their marketed use. You may have a PC/Laptop that was advertised for work purposes but you’ll never know if it can run Palia without looking at the specifications! In this article, we’ll be going over the simple steps to determine if your PC can run the game.
How to find your computer’s specifications
Before we find out if your computer meets Palia’s recommended specs, we’ll first need to have the list of your computer’s specifications. To get this, press Win + R on your keyboard then type dxdiag then hit Enter. A screen will pop up that has the list of information about your device.
Most of the information is already in the System tab but to check your GPU and VRAM you’ll need to click the Display tab.
It may be a little bit overwhelming to see a lot of terms and numbers but worry not, we won’t be going through everything on the list, just the things you need to know for Palia!
Palia’s Recommended Specifications
Quality preset suggestion: High - Medium (or lower)
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit or higher

How to know if I can run Palia?
Now that you have your computer’s specs along with the recommended specs, let’s go over it one by one.
CPU aka Processor
Figuring out if a PC's processor is strong enough takes a little more effort than the rest of the components. Thankfully there are many sites out there that will help to do this, even if you aren't tech-savvy. All you need to do is look at the Processor in the DXDIAG window.
To check the strength of a PC's processor:
- Click on this link to open a site that has our two recommended processors compared next to each other
- Click the green "+ADD" button on the right side of the screen
- Search for the processor under the "Add other CPU" search box
- Usually typing in the numbers in the processor will pop up the one you are looking for easier. For the example above, I typed in "i7-12700K"
- Click "Compare"
- Look at the CPU Mark (the huge orange numbers) at the bottom. If the CPU Mark of the PC's processor is higher than our recommended ones, this component should be strong enough.
RAM aka Memory
The requirement for Palia to run smoothly is 8GB of RAM. The DXDIAG window showcases how much the PC has under the name Memory, and also shows it in MB. To hit the minimum, the PC needs at least 8000MB of Memory.
Operating System
Your PC needs to be using one of the following Operating Systems:
- Windows 10 64-bit
- Windows 11
DirectX
The PC needs to have at least version 11 of DirectX.
GPU aka Video Card
Similar to the CPU, it takes a little more effort to tell if a PC's video card meets the recommended specs. For video card information, you can go to the DXDIAG and look under Display. The name of the card will be the first thing listed, called Name.
To check the strength of a PC's video card:
- Click on this link that has our two recommended GPUs compared next to each other.
- Click the green "+ADD" button on the right side of the screen
- Search for the video card under the "Add other Video card" search box
- Usually typing in the numbers in the video card will pop up the one you are looking for easier. For the example above, I typed in "GTX 1660"
- Click "Compare"
- Look at the G3D Rating (the huge orange numbers) at the bottom. If the G3D Rating of the PC's video card is higher than our recommended one, this component should be strong enough.
VRAM aka Display Memory
VRAM is the amount of RAM the video card has on its own. It's also called Video RAM. In the DXDIAG, you can find it under Display Devices. It's called Display Memory. Similar to RAM, it is shown in MB. To hit the recommended, the PC needs at least 4000MB of Display Memory.
HDD
Hard drive space is the only thing that doesn't show in the DXDIAG. To check how much hard drive space is left you can do the following:
- To check the total disk space left on your Windows 10 device, select File Explorer from the taskbar, and then select This PC on the left. The available space on your drive will appear under Devices and Drives.
The hard drive needs at least 16GB of free space.
Congratulations, you’ve made it to the end of the article! Now that you know how to determine if your computer can run Palia, you can also use this information for other games as well.
